We begin by learning about you and your project goals. This early conversation helps us understand your needs, timeline, design progress, permitting status, and budget — and it lets you decide whether JADE is the right partner for your build.
We focus on how you want the space to function, feel, and live, and we make sure expectations are clear before moving forward. Once we’re aligned, we outline a clear agreement that defines responsibilities on both sides.

We work closely with your architect / design team OR we work with you directly to refine details, work out specifications, and make thoughtful decisions together. This collaborative stage ensures that every structural and aesthetic choice supports your goals before we begin building.

Clear, consistent communication is central to a successful project. We provide regular updates, share photos, and agree up front on the best ways to stay in touch — whether by phone, email, or text. Establishing this protocol early helps prevent delays and keeps everyone aligned.

As construction concludes, we take care of final inspections, last details, and preparing your home for move‑in. Any remaining items go on a punch list that we address promptly.
When the project is complete, you receive a Homeowner’s Manual that includes:

This manual helps you maintain and enjoy your home long after construction ends.

About Founder and President, Dan Neumeyer
Building is in Dan’s blood. Before moving to Whidbey Island and starting JADE in 1999, Dan had over two decades of building experience under his belt.
Dan developed a practical and functional understanding of core building principles and design—and a knack for problem solving—early on. He first stepped into construction as a teenager and was mentored by a master craftsman building simple homes. Dan went on to study architecture at U.C. Berkeley, and was often called upon by his professor to help peers complete impossible builds. During that time he also started his first business and designed and built extraordinary decks, trellises and fences.
As a project manager for a Bay Area commercial contractor for ten years, Dan acquired extensive experience in all aspects of construction management from team building, estimating and cost control, scheduling, and managing labor and subcontractors, to communication and documentation.
Today, Dan continues to pursue his passion for building and helping people realize their vision on South Whidbey.
